Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your lives and so it is essential that everything runs smoothly on the day. If planned correctly, your wedding can be an amazing experience for both you and your loved ones and the memories will stay with you forever.

I have put together a few useful tips that may help you in the planning process and help to alleviate some of the stress that wedding planning can bring. My 5 useful tips are as follows: -

  1. Talk!: chat with your partner and find out exactly what it is you both want and how you would like your special day to unfold. Make sure that you cover everything so that neither of you are disappointed and can look forward to the big day knowing that it is precisely what you both wanted.
  2. Civil or Church?: decide whether you would like to get married in church or have a civil ceremony. A church wedding may mean that, if you do not already do so, you may have to attend the church on a regular basis in order to satisfy the conditions of the local parish where you plan to marry. A civil ceremony can be held at a number of different venues from simple registry office the the hotel where you plan to hold the reception.
  3. Decide on a budget: with the average cost of weddings soaring in recent years it can mean you having to pay out a tidy sum of money in preparation for the wedding. Make sure that you set a reasonable budget, that covers everything, and stick as closely to this figure as is possible.
  4. Find Your Venue: use one of the many useful online websites that contain a database of wedding venues in your chosen area or location. Make sure that the venue is in close proximity to your church or place where your ceremony is being held so that your guests do not have to endure a lengthy car journey to get their. Also ensure that the venue has enough capacity to cater for the number of guests that will be attending on both the day and evening.
  5. Use a Wedding Planner: the services of a recommended wedding planner can be a god send and let you get on with your day to day whilst being heavily involved in shaping your big day. Your planner can undertake that all important research, source and liaise with all of the suppliers and visit selected venues before narrowing the search down to a chosen few.

The above list is by no means exhaustive but provides a few simple things to think about with your partner before setting out on the journey towards that perfect wedding.
